REDEMPTION – TOM VAN DEN BOGAARD
In this video, you will follow Tom Van Den Bogaard’s journey toward achieving an exceptional trick in the world of BMX Freestyle. This Dutch rider was the first rider in the world to land a 360 quadruple downside tailwhip. On a ramp over 5 meters high, the young rider launched himself time and time again—at first without success. This period became a real ordeal for Tom: for two years, he suffered the same crash while attempting the same trick. It ultimately took three years of attempts, along with multiple injuries and recoveries, for Tom to finally succeed.
This video perfectly highlights the strength of BMX Freestyle riders and shows that perseverance is the key to success. It is an extremely physical sport, but also a highly mental one—especially when it comes to putting fear aside and committing again after a heavy crash.
It also raises awareness about the importance of wearing a helmet. Protect yourself during every session! Tom is fully protected from head to toe, and the crashes speak for themselves. Wearing a helmet is EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, whether in BMX Race or Freestyle.
