"What is the expected time for the assembly of a pair of wheels?" 

Thanks to our new machines, the time for a complete spoking of a pair of wheels is divided by 6 compared to a spoking done completely by hand. For example, for a pair of Aluminum wheels, it only takes 15min to shelf and finish the pair by hand. We put the spokes in place with a first machine, which puts the spoke head on and pre-tightens the spoke without tightening it completely.

Once the spokes have been interlaced, we use a second machine to tighten the wheel, adjust the sail and the hop to the nearest millimetre. A robot capable of tightening the spoke heads and turning the wheel to analyse the haze and the jump and act accordingly. The last step is done by hand for a precision adjustment and a control of the spoke tension with a tensiometer.

The wheels are always checked by hand to ensure a perfect result. Also in the long run, the wheels mounted by us guarantee a better life span, because the spokes are tightened in the right way so that the wheel remains strong and does not suffer from warping or jumping. A good spoking is very important to increase the life of a rim.
